你原来句子 The big box is too heavy for me to carry
对于我来说搬起这个箱子是很重的。(具体指对于我来说是很重的，别人不一定这么认为) 主语the big box 和动词不定式的宾语 to carry (the big box)都指这个箱子，所以后面的it要省去，不然就重复了，宾语是不能重复的
