半年前我发现了蚂蚁搬家的奥秘。那时，我经常从外面捉来一些小昆虫了解它们的习性。
那一天，在回家的路上，我发现我的脚边有几只小蚂蚁在飞快的“奔跑”着，一下子就不见了踪影。我仔细的观察，才看见路旁有一个小洞。我想知道他是不是跑到洞里去了，便蹲下身来在小洞前静静地守候着。一会儿只见，“蚂蚁大军”浩浩荡荡地从洞中走了出来 。有两只蚂蚁一起抬着一颗米粒,有几只蚂蚁抬着玉米粒,还有的蚂蚁背着一些似卵的东西?他们步伐轻盈，走得很快，好像佷着急似的。我不禁这样想：这么多蚂蚁一起，是不是在搬家呢？难道它们认为要发生什么情况了吗？我猛一抬头，发现天空中乌云密布，可能要下大雨！我赶紧往家跑，在路上雨就下起来了。
到了家，我顾不上擦身上的雨水，突然担心蚂蚁们的命运，便连忙撑着雨伞跑出去看蚂蚁们怎么了。我边跑边想：蚂蚁会不会被这突如其来的大雨给淹死了？到了小洞那边，我发现了他们全部都“转移”到了高地上。我松了口气，暗暗惊异：蚂蚁是怎么知道会下大雨的？难道它们是预言家吗？我心中充满了疑惑。强烈的求知欲迫使我想再一次去蚁穴探个究竟。
那天，我提前看了天气预报，知道中午会有一场大雨。于是临近中午时，我又守在了蚂蚁洞旁。果然，蚂蚁们正成群结队的搬家。
我回到家，经过查阅资料，终于明白：在下雨前，蚁巢里会特别湿闷。再加上蚂蚁们对巢里湿度和温度的变化非常敏感。所以，一到下雨之前，蚂蚁们就会成群结对的搬家呢。
