艾曼纽·贝阿1965年8月14日出生于法国的圣特洛柏兹市。由于身为歌唱家和诗人的父亲居伊·贝阿不愿让巴黎的繁华与虚荣影响到孩子，便与兄弟姐妹一起，从小在离圣特洛柏兹市不远的法国南部省的一个农庄上长大。艾曼纽是一个分外追求完美的演员，为了演好电影《冬天里的心》(1992)中小提琴手的角色，她整整学习了一年的小提琴演奏。艾曼纽在演艺上取得的最大成功，是与著名演员米谢尔·比高利合作出演《不羁的美女》(1991)，该片由雅克· 里韦特执导，她在其中成功地扮演了一名裸体模特.
